A GERMAN MASSIVE SILVER-PLATED PUNCH BOWL AND COVER
Geisslingen, maker's mark of WMF, circa 1913

The fluted circular bowl decorated with a broad frieze of hounds attacking wild boars amidst oak-leaves and applied with boars' head and drop handles, the fluted cover with stag's head finial - 60.5cm high

Lot Essay

According to the vendor's researches at the archive of the WMF atelier in Geisslingen this piece was made in their own workshop in 1913, at the cost of 192 Goldmarks. Unfortunately the archivist was unable to discover the identity of the designer.
