From 1966 Broodthaers not only worked with household objects and food such as mossel and eggshells but introduced also preserve jars in his oeuvre. The use of this jars was motivated by a necessity of possession and preservation but also to establish a relationship between the object and the reproduction of that object, between a personality and his image.
