Octagonal box, the cover and base enamelled in translucent blue on an engine-turned sunburst ground, the cover enamelled with a family scene of a young man standing in front of a seated lady with a child, edged by white enamel bands surrounding pearl borders, the base centered by an enamelled gold paillon rosette, the border enamelled in the same technique, the 8 side panels with a similar decoration -- 62 mm wide, the left-hand rear side panel re-enamelled
