Amédée-Bretagne-Malo, last duc de Duras (1771-1838), was "premier gentilhomme de la chambre" under Louis XVI, and from 1795 onwards "premier gentilhomme du Roi" under Louis XVIII who styled him a knight of the Order of the Saint-Esprit in 1820. He was one of the friends of Madame de Mirbel.
