Lot Essay

Frederick-Augustus III (1750-1827), called the Just, son of Prince Frederick-Christian of Saxony and his wife Maria-Antonia-Walpurgis (see lot 145), became Elector of Saxony in 1763 and was styled King of Saxony by Napoleon in 1806. In 1769, he married Princess Amalia of Zweibrücken.
