Countess Ludmilla Wrbna, seated three-quarters length in a nocturnal landscape and leaning on a knoll, her long curly dark hair entwined with a white ribbon, wearing a long-sleeved white dress with blue waist-sash and long blue stole -- 69 mm diam., gold frame with Vienna marks for 1797 and maker's mark "FS", engraved with biographical informations about the sitter, the reverse with elaborated gold initial "L" above a "18" on a plaited dark hair ground under glass

Lot Essay

Countess Ludmilla Wrbna von Freudenthal (1773-1857) married the "k. u. k. Kämmerer" Count Anton-Franz Abensberg und Traun in 1801. They had three children: Franz-Xaver, Eleonore, and Franz-Seraphin.
