Of circular form, the body overall cast and chased with scroll water lily leaves, the hinged cover set with two star sapphire cabochons. 3.7 cm diam.
Provenance
By family descent, from Grand Duke Nicholas Nikolaevich (1856-1929). The star sapphire was the favourite stone of Grand Duke Nicholas Nikolaevich and he used to have some of his day to day items set with such stones.
