160 X 155MM. CHRIST IN HEAVEN WITHIN A BLUE MANDORLA, THE FACES OF THE JUST PEERING OUT BEHIND HIM; BELOW NINE MEN AND WOMEN LOOK UP TOWARDS HIM. INITIAL PINK, AGAINST BLUE GROUND WITH WHITE TRACERY AND FOLIATE EXTENSIONS. WITHIN A MOUNT, BUT IT IS POSSIBLE TO SEE STAVES OF MUSIC ON VERSO.
THIS IS CLOSELY RELATED TO A GROUP OF TEN MINIATURES IN THE FONDAZIONE CINI. CF. G.M.CANOVA MINIATURE DELL'ITALIA SETTENTRIONALE (1978), NOS. 47 TO 56. IN SPITE OF THEIR GENERALLY BOLOGNESE ASPECT, THEY ARE THERE ATTRIBUTED TO GIUSTINO DEL FU GHERARDINO DA FORLI WHO PAINTED A GRADUALE FOR THE SCUOLA DI S.
