Colllation: a-e10 f8 g10 h-i8 k-r10 s-t8 u10 x8 y-z &10 aa-ee10 ff-gg8 hh10 ii-ll m8 mm-qq10 rr-uu8 xx10 yy-zz8 (a1r blank, a1v Romero's letter and Taqui's reply, Genesis-3 Kings, m1r 4 Kings-Ecclesiasticus, aa1r Isaiah-Apocalypse, uu1r table of Hebrew names, zz8v blank). 454 leaves. 52 lines, double column (single in preface, triple in table). Types: 1:84G, 3:120G. First initial and initial opening Psalms in interlocking red and blue with penwork decoration by a CONTEMPORARY ENGLISH HAND, smaller initials and paragraph marks alternating in red and blue, yellow capital strokes, MS. catchwords, some MS. quiring still visible. (Small wormhole touching some letters in final few lvs., an occasional minor marginal repair, one or two very light stains.) Modern purple morocco panelled in gilt and blind, preserving its previous mid-16-century London blindstamped calf sides as liners (Oldham roll SW.b.5), g.e., by C. Hanson at the National Library of Wales. Provenance: contemporary marginal annotations, one hand indicating psalms to read at canonical hours; Hugo Pecoke (16th-century inscription).
