Engraved frontispiece, letterpress general titles and dedications to George Ii and Horace Walpole, engraved map of the Thames on two folding sheets, 76 hand-coloured aquatint plates, 3 folding. (Some spotting and staining to volume I, light offsetting onto many plates.) Contemporary crimson straight-grained morocco (extremeties worn, upper joints partially cracked). Provenance: Porkington Library shelf-label. Abbey Scenery 432 (This copy the first printing with the general titles 'History of the Principal Rivers'). (2)
