List of subscribers in vol.I; table and list of plates at the end of each volume, 231 lithographed plates, including 2 double-page and 165 hand coloured. (Marginal tears skilfully repaired throughout; half titles repaired; apparently washed, but an uncut copy). Modern half morocco.
Cruveilhier was the first to occupy the chair of pathology at the Faculté de Medicine in Paris. This monumental atlas of pathology was published over a period of 13 years and contains inter alia the first descriptions of disseminated sclerosis, hypertrophic pyloric stenosis and ulceration of the stomach due to hyperacidity, as well as the earliest illustrations of multiple sclerosis, intercranial epidermoid, spinal meningiomas, etc. FIRST EDITION.
