12° in sixes (133 x 84mm), the last 3 leaves a priced catalogue of "Books printed for E. Newbery". Title-page and frontispiece engraved on copper, with 5 copper-engraved plates. Bound "in the vellum manner": marbled paper over boards, vellum back, stained green, with three-quarters of the original printed label. Provenance: Marriott. Roscoe J 170(2).
The first edition to have plates in the text, Roscoe recording the only known copy as that in the British Library (imperfect). A fine example of vellum binding with much of the label (unusually) preserved.
