12° in sixes (115 x 74mm). Pp.103-5 advertisements. Frontispiece and 53 (out of 58) soft metal relief engravings (?) to accompany each fable. (Lacks A1, D1, H1, I1 and I6 [? blank]. Dutch flowered paper over boards (very worn, spine repaired with paper, top hinge cracking). Provenance: Joseph Abell His Book February y. 17.h 1788 Written by John Morcombe of Highhampton; Oppenheimer Collection. Osborne II. p.570; A & M no.104.

ESTC (1990) has no record of this book, which Mrs. Moon regards as a "really delightful" example of Marshall's publishing, with the cuts "full of vitality".
