The first, frontispiece, leaf a pastedown with 12 further framed wood engravings in text. Publisher's drab wrappers, plain (back missing but gatherings holding; stain on lower wrapper top). Provenance: Mary Hilsey Her Book. Moon 958(3). Roscoe records only one copy of the original edition, published by E. Newbery in 1792. - The Sister's Gift, or the naughty boy reformed. Published for the advantage of the rising generation...London: printed for J. Harris...1807. 32° (98 x 60mm). The end leaves pastedowns, the front with an oval woodcut frontispiece and verse stanza, and 7 framed square woodcuts. (Leaves discoloured and dirty with some small tears.) Dutch flowered paper wrappers (faded and dusty). Provenance: Robert Plowman 1839; James Plowman 1849. Moon 801(2) (this copy); Roscoe suggests a first publication date of 1769-70 and records only 2 copies of the Newbery editions.
