BELSON, M. (c.1790-c.1860). My Father. London: William Darton Jun. ?1812.
6° (105 x 92mm). 6 pages each with a picture between two stanzas of verse printed on one sheet. Engraved throughout and hand-coloured at the publishers, the second leaf with the title and the fifth with an imprint: February 17.h 1819. The leaves side-sewn into cerise paper wrappers with a letterpress label in the upper cover. Provenance: Harry Watts; Moon 210; A & M no.83.
The dating is problematic, Moon gives a date of 1812 for the printed sheet from which this booklet was made up (cf. Lot The School-Boy) above, but the date here looks very much like 1810, altered to 1819, which is when the present copy was presumably published.
