Christmas Tales for Amusement and Instruction of Young Ladies and Gentlemen in Winter Evenings...n.d. [ca. 1804; but watermarked 1801]. 18° (124 x 78mm). Collation: A6, with inserted frontispiece and title-page (conjugate) and 12 illustrations on six leaves, all etched in copper (worn). R & B 56, citing only one copy, without wrappers. -- The Life and Adventures of Sinbad the Sailor...n.d. [c.1808]. 18° (116 x 75mm). Make-up as previous item, but each plate is an oval, framed etching printed blue (upper half of frontispiece and 2 plates lacking; some child colouring). Rebound in modern brown card. Provenance: Alex [name missing] Dunkeld 1809 R & B 120 ("apparently another issue" of 119, this copy only recorded). -- [William COWPER ( ? - ?)]. The Humorous History of John Gilpin and the Historical Ballad of the Children in the Wood...n.d. [1815-1820?]. 18° (123 x 82mm). Make-up similar to previous two items, the illustrations now being oval, framed etchings with cartouche titling. One small wood engraving in text. Pink card covers with engraved title label on upper cover, printed blue (faded and grubby), fabric spine, apparently original. Provenance: G. Copeman 20.h April 1826 (inscription); Raymond R.
