Signed by Rangers in 1925 from Aberdeen Mugiemoss, Gray spent the next twenty-two years at Ibrox, Rangers being his only Senior Club. Although of modest physique, he had a gargantuan durability which goes no little way towards explaining his phenomenal 940 appearances for the Club, a Scottish record. The same could hardly be said for his totally unremarkable scoring record of just two goals! Gray completed his career as Coach with Clyde.
