"Bud" Maxwell joined Preston from Kilmarnock in 1934. A Centre Forward or Winger, he was a tireless worker, very fast off the mark and had a deadly shot. Maxwell, one of several Scots in the Preston team of this period, unfortunately never played for his country at full International level.
