WILLIAM DALE - William Dale was born in Manchester in 1905. From his first Club, Sandbach Ramblers, in the Cheshire League, Dale was signed as an amateur by Manchester United in 1925. He soon turned professional however and became established in the Right-Back position. During Season 1931-32 he transfered to Manchester City and then, in 1938-39, to Ipswich Town.
