The hinged lid inset with two alabaster panels, each carved with a double-headed eagle; the reverse inset with a panel dated '1657'; the right hand end sliding up to reveal two secret drawers in the base.
Traces of gilding to the alabaster; elements of the mouldings lacking and elements replaced; minor cracks, damages; restorations.
10 3/8 x 5¼ x 7in. (26.3 x 13.3 x 17.8cm.)
