The present drawing was part of an album probably compiled in England in the 18th Century: many of the drawings were in the collection of the older Richardson dispersed in 1747. Sheets from this album were sold in these Rooms, 12 December 1985, lots 151-174 and at Christie's, Amsterdam, 18 November 1985, lots 25-39.
