This drawing is part of a group of drawings from the studio of Ottavio Strada, who succeeded his father as Court Antiquary to the Holy Roman Emperor in 1581. A drawing fom Strada's studio was offered at Christie's, New York, 11 January 1994, lot 17, illustrated.
