The present sheet is related to a group of half-length studies of the Madonna and Child in the Uffizi, the Louvre, the Prado (M.B. Mena Marqués, Dibujos italianos del siglo XVII, Madrid, 1983, fig. 68), the Brera and the Albertina, V. Birke and J. Kertész, Die Italienischen Zeichnungen der Albertina, Vienna, 1994, II, Inv. 2269, illustrated. The present drawing, which shows the influence of Ludovico Carracci, probably dates from circa 1610-13.
