Born in Swansea on 9th September 1910, Glover played for Swansea Schoolboys before joining Foreward Movement F.C. Whilst working as a machinery dismantler he played with Swansea Town. In 1928 he agreed terms with and joined Grimsby Town. He settled quickly and in season 1929/30 he set a Midland League goal-scoring record of 71 goals whilst still playing for the reserves. He was soon to be promoted to the senior side when the club's centre forward, Coleman, joined Arsenal.
In season 1933-34, when Grimsby won the Division 2 Championship, 'Pat' was the Division's top goalscorer with 42 goals. The following season he scored 34 goals in the First Division. Sadly a knee injury at the beginning of season 1937-38 interrupted his career and, unable to regain a first team place, he was transferred to Plymouth where he made only three appearances before retiring. He appeared 227 times for Grimsby, scoring 180 goals. He also gained seven full Welsh International Caps, scoring seven goals. Glover died in Tanerton Foilat, Devon on 9th September 1971
