P A T S Y G A L L A G H E R Patsy Gallagher made his debut for Celtic in season 1911/12. A diminutive but determined player Gallagher had no hesitation retaliating against opponents who were eager to capitalise on the difference in height and weight. His legendary ball control and ingenuity are probably best summed up in his equalising goal for Celtic against Dundee in the 1925 Cup Final: Gallagher received the ball on the half-way line and began making his way towards goal. After several clumsy tackles on him he finally reached the penalty area, only to be knocked off the ball by the keeper. He quickly regained his balance and with the ball between his feet, somersalted over the goal-line and into the net. Gallagher picked up six League Championship and four Scottish Cup winners medals with Celtic before joining Falkirk in 1926/27. He also appeared fifteen times for Ireland in the International arena The following three lots were awarded to PATSY GALLAGHER (see also lot 160)
