A tete de negre black and gold lacquer cabinet on stand, fitted with two cupboard doors painted with panels of figures riding horses within a wooded townscape, mounted with engraved brass hinges and cast brass lockplates, painted to the reverse with panels of trees and flags, and enclosing ten variously sized drawers decorated with figures in various pursuits, 18th Century and later, the later Charles II style silvered stand, with acanthus carved border, the pierced frieze carved with acanthus foliage and c-scrolls, centred by a basket of fruiting foliage flanked by putti resting on shells, the pierced and foliate carved square tapering supports headed by portrait masks, suspending drapery swags, on block supports and fluted moulded square toes, joined by acanthus carved scrolled stretchers each centred by a flowerhead carved pot shelf, the cabinet, 39 1/4ins wide, 31 1/2ins high (99.5cms x 80cms), the stand, 45 3/4ins wide (116cms) 33 1/2ins high (85cms)
