A FINE AND RARE HELLENISTIC GOLD RING WITH MOTTLED GLASS SCARABOID, the heavy semicircular angular-section hoop with a six-petalled rosette on either shoulder, supporting a large oval bezel set with a brightly coloured mottled red, black, turquoise and yellow glass scaraboid, the open-backed gold setting formed by a band of plain, spiral beaded and twisted wires, the glass inset held in place by sheet gold dog-teeth settings, 3rd Century B.C.
