A PAIR OF LARGE EUROPEAN DARK AGE GOLD EARRINGS, each composed of a circular hoop to which is attached an elaborate pendant formed from one large and eight small hollow gold spheres with attached twisted wire filigree and granulation, a grape like cluster of gold grains below (missing on one earring), a further hollow gold sphere with granulation and filigree surmounts the pendant and extends up into the centre of the hoop (missing on one earring), and a similar cluster of sphere and grains is mounted on the top centre of the hoop, circa 6th-7th Century A.D.
