A Flemish ebony, amaranth, rosewood and oak cabinet-on-stand
17th Century
The stepped rectangular top with hinged lid above an architectural facade with geometric panelling and with three detached columns with patterned bases, enclosing a central cabinet door with conforming semi-detached columns enclosing six small drawers, all surrounded by ten short drawers, above the lower section with two further drawers, the stand with a plain breakfront frieze and canted angles above a pierced C-scroll apron centred by a gadrooned baluster boss and on conforming gadrooned legs terminating in raised ball feet, the interior previously decorated with painted copper pannels, the reverse with chalk inscription Stodel
