Painted to the sides in various coloured enamels and gilt with branches of peony and plum, the cover with various song-birds in flight or perched on prunus branches issuing from rockwork besides flowering chrysanthemum, ormolu-mounted with foliate handles, finial and base, wave-pattern rim, minor damage to ormolu

According to the present owner this bowl was a present from the King of Belgium in the early 20th Century.
