A Dutch mahogany, fruitwood and parquetry sideboard 'klapbuffet'
Late 18th Century
The hinged canted rectangular top centred by an oval fan-motif within a chequer-banded cut-cornered frame, above a dentilled rim, the reverse mounted with a later pewter cistern flanked to either side by two folding shelves, above two hinged flaps centred by a pewter basin concealed by a later lid, above two chequer-banded drawers flanking a false drawer and a pair of doors conformingly decorated to the top, enclosing a fitted interior with four later velvet-lined cutlery drawers above an open compartment, on waisted square tapering legs and brass bun feet, minor losses to the veneers, the back later
