The circular quarter-veneered top with central green-stained and geometric roundel, crossbanded in satinbirch and amaranth, the edge carved with stiff-leaf, on three square C-scroll supports joined by a conforming stiff-leaf undertier

Lot Essay

A satinwood tea-table of this form but with a plain edge and different inlaid motif in the top is in the Blue Sitting Room at Buckingham Palace (see: H. Clifford Smith, Buckingham Palace, London, 1930, fig. 280).
Another similar table was sold from the Estate of Leonard and Alice Granby, Sotheby's New York, 21-22 April 1995, lot 91. Another of a related model with a Chinese lacquer top was sold anonymously, Sotheby's London, 19 March 1982, lot 94
