A pair of Chinese ivory Buddhistic lions

carved seated on octagonal shaped double-lotus petal bases, one with its young under foot and the other with a brocade ball, wearing bells around the necks, the mouths slightly open with ferocious expressions, one with a silver inlaid wood stand -- 6 5/8in. (16.8cm.) max. high, (one wood stand missing).
