A Japanese ivory okimono of a craftsman
19th Century
carved seated beside various tools and work surfaces wearing long robes, holding a closed parasol and a brush, signed red lacquer tablet to base -- 2 7/8in. (7.3cm.) wide; and another ivory okimono of a seated man wearing robes and wide brimmed hat, holding a plant in one hand and a pair of pruning scissors in the other, signed red lacquer tablet to base -- 2¾in. (7cm.) high; and an ivory parasol top (minor restoration to second piece).
