cover 1891 (9 Mar.) H.M.S. Thrush envelope (complete with letter headed "Barbados") from Prince George (later King George V) addressed to "H.E.W. Grant Esq., Government House, Trinidad", bearing Bermuda 4d. tied by Ireland Isle "3" duplex and showing Trindad arrival c.d.s. (21.4) alongside; the letter reads "I am sorry to trouble you again about these blessed stamps; but I find that the Post Master didn't give me any post cards, envelopes & wrappers of the present issue, but only those surcharged with 9d., so I am going to ask you if you would mind getting a set & sending them up to Bermuda when you send the Tobago stamps.". A remarkable letter sent whilst Prince George was in command of H.M. Gunboat Thrush from 1890 to 1891. Photo
