A LOUIS XV/XVI TRANSITIONAL ORMOLU-MOUNTED TULIPWOOD, AMARANTH, BOIS SATINE AND PARQUETRY MEUBLE D'APPUI
Circa 1775, stamped P. Roussel and JME, and adapted from a secretaire à abattant
The rectangular red and grey-veined marble top over two doors enclosing one shelf, decorated overall with geometric patterns, set with floral ribbon-tied escutcheons and garland mounts to the angles, over a shaped apron set with scrolling acanthus, on hairy paw feet, with a red chalk inscription 421.1, reduced in depth
