Tibet, 16th Century
Finely cast seated in dhyanasana on a double-lotus base with beaded rims, his hands in the gesture of teaching, vitarka mudra, wearing a diaphanous robe draped across his left shoulder with a beaded and finely incised scroll border, the folds neatly gathered in a fan-shape at his feet with a vajra placed before him, his face with a serene expression flanked by long pendulous lobes, richly gilt overall, the base sealed and gilt
