Color Geometry of Space Series

The Color Geometry of Space series marks an important phase in the development of Swaminathan's career as it best illustrates the artist's experimentation with Neo-Tantric idioms and other mythical and abstract symbols. A lightened palette of pinks, mauves, greens and yellows characterize the works of this series, as does the calculated placement of geometric shapes within these large expanses of color. The influence of the Color Geometry of Space series is clearly reflected in the compositional structure and symmetry of Swaminathan's later Mountain Tree and Bird series.
