painted oval, a label attached to the frame is inscribed Portrait of Chevealier de St. George, James III of England. Painted during his residency at Urbino 1718-19 by Chevalier Ghezzi of Rome and bought by me for Miss Murray Thriepland from the duchal palace there, 30th April 1845, James Dennistoun; oil on canvas
