A short red jacket of the Perthshire Yeomanry, believed to be that of a trumpeter, circa 1820?, with silver ball-shaped buttons each stamped PYC and with crown and thistles.

In the 'Military History of Perthshire' Lady Tullibardine, published Perth 1908, p.200, it states that "at Fingask there is a short red jacket with white piping.......which presumably belonged to a trumpeter" (the rest of the Regt. wore blue).
