A fine heart shaped snuff box, the body formed of petrified wood, the hinged cover set with an oval hardstone cameo depicting a dog within a finely chased two-colour gold border of flowerheads and foliage, the ring set with a row of rubies and with diamond thumbpiece, with concealed interior compartment set with a painted miniature of Bonnie Prince Charlie in faceted glazed mount within a lapis lazuli heart shaped border, 2nd quarter of the 18th century, 1¼in. (3.2cm) high.
