A Continental silver gilt chalices on octafoil domed spreading base with engraved roundel depicting a figure and the letters 'S.D.' and an arched recess decorated in polychrome enamel with a figure of St John and also engraved with a cross, the octagonal knopped stem with eight circular bosses, each engraved with a saint, some retaining traces of enamel decoration, with plain slightly everted bucket shaped bowl on an octafoil calyx, the underside of the base inscribed 'M.M.D.P' with mullets between, marks slightly rubbed, possibly Grenable, 7in. (17.7cm) high.
