A black and gilt-japanned longcase clock, the stepped caddy top hood with three turned giltwood finials, the moulded cornice above an arched and glazed door enclosing a brass dial with subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, inscribed Adriaan D'Baghyn, Amsterdam, the repeating movement striking on a single bell, the case fitted with a rectangular trunk door decorated all over with Chinoiserie scenes of pavilioned gardens, above a similar base, on a later moulded plinth, 18th Century, 95ins (241cms) high
