A French silver-mounted toilet service in brass-bound mahogany travelling case, incorporating tambour-fronted cover, twin fall flaps and jewellery drawer, with folding brass handles, various makers and dates, mostly Paris, circa 1830, comprising:-

a shaving brush with sliding handle

an oval shaving basin with anthemion border

Further details
By family repute this toilet service was presented to William Cullen, Consul at Calais to Leopold, King of Belgium. Cullen died at Calais in 1837 and was buried at Folkestone in England.
