BURNS, Robert: Poems Chiefly in the Scottish Dialect, Edinburgh, printed for the author and sold by William Creech, 1787, FIRST EDITION, contemporary gilt calf; a holly gavel with silver presentation plaque inscribed, This mallet was made from the holly tree which grew on Robert Burns's grave, St Michael's Churchyard, which was cut down in the year 1903; and a fruitwood toddy ladle with spirally turned stem bearing a paper label inscribed, This ladle said to be the property of Robert Burns was gifted by the late John Currie, Merchant, Holywood, to a relative of my wife, Wm. Roberson, Station Master, Dumfries, 6th June 1916 (3)
