A reproduction of an early betrothal quaich, on rim foot with shaped lug handles, the body applied with four tapering straps, the centre with gold cross-type boss, the base bearing tinkers marks, probably 18th Century, 2¾in (7cm.) diameter

The inscription reads 'Ano dom, 1517,' also inscribed with initials, a J.crowned crossed arrows, entwined hearts and a thistle.
