A French ormolu inkstand formed as a miniature bureau in the Empire manner, on four tapering supports with caryatid surmounts, the borders chased with foliated scrolls, the galleried top inset with three mother-of-pearl panels (cracked) and surmounted by three urns, the fall front enclosing a mirrored back interior and fitted with two cylindrical glass ink pots and a pounce pot each with ormolu rim, the reverse with folding flap enclosing a printed calendar for 1822, 5¼in. (13.5cm) wide
