Oval, the hinged cover engraved with a band of scrolling oak leaves, acorns and rosettes, the centre with a coat-of-arms within motto and floral pendants, marked on cover and base - 3½in. (9cm.) wide

The arms are those of The City of Cork

The inscription reads 'For the Rt Honble & Rt Red LORD JOHN BERESFORD Lord Bishop of Cork & Ross, From the Corporation with the honoary Freedom of the City of Cork.
