A FRENCH SIX PIECE SILVER AND SILVER-PLATED TEA SERVICE
maker's mark of Maison Odiot, Paris, circa 1880

Comprising a tea kettle, stand and lamp, the stand on four cast shell and leaf-capped scroll feet and with plain detachable lamp, the kettle chased with spiral flutes and with curved spout, detachable domed cover and spirally fluted swing handle, a teapot, a two-handled sugar bowl and cover, a tea caddy with hinged cover, a slop bowl and a cream jug, similarly chased, each engraved with a coat-of-arms with coronet above, all in fitted brass bound wood case, the cover with inset plaque engraved with a coat-of-arms, the lock plate engraved 'Odiot, Orfévre á Paris', fully marked, the tea kettle, stand and lamp plated, the remainder silver - the tea kettle, stand and lamp 14¼in. (46cm.) high overall
