the rectangular case on elaborate foliate feet, the convex-moulded sides applied with pierced and chased foliage set with semi-precious stones, similarly set bezel to the rectangular dial finely engraved with inhabited scrolling foliage on a matted ground, applied silver champlevé Roman dial with central gilt alarm disc, the movement with four turned pillars, foliate pierced and footed balance cock for the verge escapement, resting barrels for the going and alarm on bell on underside
